A must if you do any serious sanding and care about your health. Even using a dust mask you're leaving tons of sub-micron particles suspended in the air that you'll breath in hours later. It's a ding against the Bosch sanders that they don't work directly with a hose, but for the adapter it is exactly what you need to use a vac hose. True, it is not sized for a large Shop-Vac with a 1 1/4" hose, which isn't best suited for this type of work anyway (drag a hose half as big as the sander around?), it is meant for a dust extractor the Fein or Bosch's own Wet/Dry Vacuum Cleaner
Back to this little piece of plastic, does everything it is meant to do, allows you to dump the canister and suck most of that dust up.
